Reena/Chai-Tikvah
Program Evaluation, Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis
Reena is a non-profit social service agency that serves individuals with diverse abilities within a framework of Jewish culture and values. Services include residential support, respite programs, and counselling. Reena hired Sonderbloom to conduct a review of Chai-Tikvah; Reena’s mental health arm which provides residential options and social programs to enhance quality of life for individuals affected by mental health concerns.
Sonderbloom conducted a review of the program through both qualitative and quantitative data analyses. This included consultations with Reena and Chai-Tikvah staff and analyzing descriptive materials in relation to service delivery, governance, financial oversight, administration, and stakeholder engagement. The final report outlined the strenghts and weaknesses of the program and provided reccomendations for enhancing mental health programming at Reena and for improvements from both operations and strategic standpoints.
United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation of Greater Toronto Strengthening Jewish Toronto
Program Evaluation, Leading Consultations
UJA engaged Sonderbloom to undertake a multi-phased evaluation, research and consultation project to assess the current landscape of human services programs in Toronto’s Jewish community and provide recommendations on how UJA and its partner agencies can work collaboratively to strengthen this system. The consultation process included facilitating multiple visioning sessions with executive leaders from 10 agencies, conducting interviews with agency staff, self-advocates and families regarding their experiences across the sector, holding group consultation sessions with community leaders and interviewing subject matter experts on human services innovation.
Based on these consultations and best practices in the sector, Sonderbloom developed well-rounded recommendations that will continue to inform enhancements to service delivery and service awareness.
Kenora District Services Board (KDSB)
Business Case, Leading Consultations
The KDSB provides social services to 70,000 people throughout the District of Kenora. KDSB hired Sonderbloom to create a business case for an integrated Addictions and Social Housing strategy. Sonderbloom held various consultations with Sioux Lookout and Cat Lake First Nation community partners to better understand the needs of the communities and collaboratively design solutions to address those needs. The final business case was endorsed by 4 First Nation Chiefs, the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, and the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority. Through this business case, we secured federal and provincial government funding to support the development of addiction treatment centres, and supportive housing facilities in Sioux Lookout and Cat Lake First Nation.
Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) - Family Well Being
Program Evaluation, Leading Consultations, Best Practices
Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) is an Inuit-specific registered not-for-profit service provider in Ontario offering social programs, cultural activities, employment and education assistance and more. In total, TI offers nearly 30 integrated, front-line services. One of these services is the Family Well-Being (FWB) Program. FWB offers Urban Inuit programs such as Violence Against Women, Youth Life Promotion, Ilagiiqatigiitsiarniq, Arsaniq, and Nakakulugiit Project. The FWB programs are community-led, prevention-focused support to improve the overall health and well-being of Inuit. Services provided support for the delivery of culturally grounded, holistic, and prevention-focused programs and services.
TI hired Sonderbloom to review the FWB Program regarding program delivery, stakeholder satisfaction and best practices in the sector. Sonderbloom led consultations with TI staff and clients to perform this program evaluation. The final report outlined the strengths and weaknesses of the program and provided recommendations based on stakeholder feedback and the leading practices in the sector.
